School Sessions Gala Dinner: 20 June 2008
The Army Barracks in Mather Avenue was transformed into a venue fit for any celebrity bash. The Can Cook's gala dinner was prepared and served to a hundred hungry and appreciative guests by the 'New Heys', winners of the School Sessions competition.
The menu, which was devised by Can Cook Chef 'Tony Evans', put our budding chefs culinary skills to the test which they passed with flying colours as they produced food that could grace the tables of any top class restaurant.
Along with speeches and words of praise for all their hard work over the past few months from Susan Roberts (Five Childrens and Families Trust), Julie Curren (Taste for Health) and Maria Eagle MP, guests were also serenaded by the dulcet tones of 'Katie'.
At the end of the night our chefs were given a well deserved standing ovation for their creativity and effort.
Well done to everyone who took part.
